Jockey Flavien Prat capped a four-win Friday at Del Mar by guiding Prince Abama to a “tactical” victory in the featured Grade II Hollywood Turf Cup.
The Grey Wizard led only one horse after a mile but rallied over the last quarter-mile to finish ahead of Avenue . Favorite Dicey Mo Chara never threatened the leaders and finished fourth in the three-turn race. Santin, a 4-year-old son of Distorted Humor, goes into the race as the 3-1 favorite under Umberto Rispoli. Two of Santin’s four wins in nine starts are in Grade I stakes.
