Tacoma police has released a sketch
This image shows a sketch of the man who randomly stabbed a woman at Point Defiance Park on Saturday, Feb. 17. The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. at the Tacoma park, when a woman walking on the Spine Trail — also known as the light-blue trail — was attacked, pinned to the ground and repeatedly stabbed, according to the TPD.
Witnesses intervened and the suspect ran away, toward the Owen Beach parking lot, out of sight, the TPD added.for information about the man that leads to the arrest of the suspect and charges filed. Detectives are also seeking dashcam video as TPD believes park visitors with vehicles equipped with dashboard cameras could unknowingly have helpful footage. The suspect is described as a light-skinned Black man in his 20s to 30s, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot, 160 pounds, with black hair about 3-6 inches long in an "unkempt afro style" with short facial hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black shoes, officials added. The sketch was made using the stabbing victim, witnesses to the assault, and a sketch artist from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.Tacoma police search for suspect after woman stabbed at Point Defiance Parkhad been placed within the park, recording everyone who officially entered the area through the front gate.
