The Innibos National Arts Festival, a decadent celebration appealing to all five senses, will captivate audiences from June 27 to 30 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, just a short drive from major cities.
“Innibos stands out for its rare fusion of arts, bringing together music, cuisine, wine, theatre, art, and literature in one enchanting setting. Few events match the comprehensive spectrum of attractions found at Innibos.” Poetry Slam makes a comeback, addressing ethical and social issues through spoken word poetry. In addition, the satire A Street Taxi Named Desiree will take you on a wild goose chase from the viewpoint of a taxi driver, taxi passengers, and even observers. Well-known actors such as Sandra Prinsloo and the stand-up comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout are also featured on the programme.
The cream of Afrikaans musicians — from Appel and Bok van Blerk to Francois van Coke, Spoegwolf, Bernice West, Demi-Lee Moore, Elvis Blue, Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels, Swing City, and Refentse — will grace the main stage each night. The children, on the other hand, will be kept busy by SPAR Woelwaters, which offers theatre productions, cupcake decoration, and activities that ensure children will be ready for an early bedtime.
