The opener could become the first player to score five consecutive T20I half-centuries
In-form Proteas opener Reeza Hendricks says lots of hard work and following coach Mark Boucher’s instructions to the tee have helped him join an elite group of cricketers such as Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle.
The South African has scored four consecutive T20 half centuries‚ including the three against England, and is the sixth player in the world to achieve the feat. TRayyan Khan Pathan of Canada and France’s Gustav Mckeon. “I don’t think there’s any secret to it. I have been going about my business the way I have been and trying to follow the process on a daily basis. It’s in the nature of the way the game goes‚” Hendricks said of his form. “It happened to me when I obviously got a good run and I’ve got some momentum on my side.
With the T20 World Cup in Australia fast approaching in October and November‚ Hendricks has joined a list of strong candidates pushing for places in SA’s final squad. He has been working hard behind the scenes to achieve that goal.
