Mitchell Marsh’s men have already qualified for the Super 8 stage, but will it be Scotland or England joining them from Group B? Follow all the action from a crucial clash in St Lucia.
T20 captain Mitch Marsh has become the latest player to bat away suggestions that Australia will attempt to push England out of the T20 World Cup by playing dead against Scotland.Australia have already qualified for the next stage and a Scottish victory would also put them through to the super eights ahead of England, who are currently second in Group B on run rate. The top two teams from all four groups go through to the next round.“We’ll approach it the same as any other game.
It’s a World Cup game,” Marsh said. “We’ve got a lot of respect for Scotland, It should be a hard fought contest. We’re playing for Australia and we’re here to win.”Marsh confirmed that Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were simply resting, with Cummins coming off a heavy IPL schedule and Hazlewood playing all three matches in the tournament to date.“If things go well over the next couple of weeks we’ve got a heavy schedule.
