Kendrick Lamar and SZA will headline Super Bowl LVII halftime show, bringing a mix of their musical talents and collaborative energy to the stage in New Orleans. This performance will mark a reunion of sorts for the two artists, who have a history together both professionally and personally.
Kendrick Lamar was playfully splashed by SZA as he walked across a football field ahead of the Super Bowl LVII halftime show rehearsals. Lamar and SZA will be co-headlining the halftime show from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9th. SZA , Lamar's former Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate, appeared on his recent album 'GNX' and was featured on songs including 'Gloria' and 'Luther'. They will also co-headline a 19-city North American tour this spring and summer.
The Grand National Tour kicks off April 19th in Minneapolis and concludes June 18th in Washington, D.C. SZA is nominated for two Grammys for her single 'Saturn' in the best R&B song and R&B performance categories. She has won four Grammys overall. Lamar enters the upcoming Grammys with seven nominations, including for 'Like That' with Future and Metro Boomin, and 'Not Like Us', which is notably up for song and record of the year. He has won a total of 17 Grammys. Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins will serve as co-executive producers of the halftime show. The creative direction of Lamar's performance will be provided by pgLang, a creative company founded by Lamar and Dave Free — who has previously directed the rapper's music videos. Last year's Super Bowl halftime show featured Usher with guests including H.E.R., Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon, Ludacris and Alicia Keys.
