The United States previously issued Syria General License 25 and provided exemptions under the Caesar Act to support investment linked to Syria’s recovery efforts.
US President Donald Trump later signed an executive order lifting US sanctions on Syria, opening the way for renewed discussions on trade, investment and economic cooperation. The forum is expected to serve as a platform for businesses and officials to discuss potential projects and identify areas where private-sector partnerships can support Syria’s economic rebuilding efforts.
