All Rights Reserved.“It’s been a reprieve from his fate, which was going to be quite brutal and severe,” Stallone said of his character, who was sent to the city after a 25 year prison sentence.
Stallone continued, “He’s been given a second lease on life, which I feel I have too, very identifiable.” The “Rocky” star added that he “loved” Tulsa because “it’s a very unique city,” but admitted the weather could be a challenge for filming. In season three of “Tulsa King,” which airs on Paramount+, Stallone’s gangster has truly built a reliable crew with the locals who he’s come to call family. As the ultimate Hollywood veteran, Stallone said he’s happy to offer advice to the younger cast, including Garrett Hedlund, Martin Starr, Jay Will, and new addition Bella Heathcote. “I usually go to them because they might be a bit reluctant,” he said when it comes to providing mentorship. “So I’ll go, you ought to think about what thinking about during this scene, why don’t you jack this up, speed this down because from the outside, I’m wanting you to say this this way, why don’t you give it a shot?” He continued, “But that’s what you get when you really watch yourself, I watch a lot of playbacks, and a lot of actors don’t want to watch themselves, but I think it’s a big disservice, because that doesn’t lie, what you think you’re doing in your mind’s eye quite often is faulty.” One newcomer to the show needs no advice, fellow Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson. He’s stopping by before his character gets his own spin off, “NOLA King.” When asked if there is any hope for some crossover, Stallone said, “This has been mentioned, and I would look forward to it. But there’s a big surprise coming up that even I didn’t see dealing with Sam Jackson and myself.”
