Last week a family from China paid close to $21m for a Chilton Pde estate designed by Playoust Churcher Architects on 1975sqm of land including a floating tennis court above an eight-car garage. A family from China originally offered $18m for the trophy estate but Ward knew the vendors wanted at least $20m for the property.
“Overseas buyers wanting to be close to schools such as Abbotsleigh and Knox are driving the prestige market at the moment,” he said., welcomed nine qualified buyers through the first open house and said the prestige market on the upper north shore is stronger than it’s ever been.
