Sydneysiders are set to swelter through their hottest day in two years as the city and surrounds enter a three-day heatwave on the second week of Autumn.
Meanwhile, extreme fire warnings have been issued for the Greater Hunter, Central Ranges and Lower Central West Plains.
Anyone in those high-risk settings are urged to monitor the hot and dry conditions throughout the day, and action a Bushfire Survival Plan now in case of an emergency.
