Cal Fire San Diego crews are working to extinguish a vegetation fire off Highway 67 and Poway Road Friday afternoon.
At 4:49 p.m. the agency reported the fire, dubbed Sycamore Fire, was stopped at 25 acres and is 60% containment.
The blaze threatened a ranch for a time but was never an imminent hazard to homes, said Thomas Shoots, Cal Fire fire captain.
