Private equity groups Blackstone and Carlyle are considering a joint bid for Novartis’ Sandoz generic drugs business for a possible $25 billion, Bloomberg reported on Feb. 1.
The Swiss pharmaceuticals group raised the prospect in October of selling Sandoz. At its quarterly results on Feb. 2, Novartis said it would provide an update by the end of the year.
