By Anchorage Daily NewsA woman who was struck by an SUV while she was crossing Northern Lights Boulevard in West Anchorage died Saturday night, police said.
Patrol officers responded to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Anchorage Police Department said in . Initial information indicated that the woman was crossing the westbound lanes of West Northern Lights, and was about 500 feet west of the crosswalk located at the Minnesota Drive intersection, when a Kia SUV heading west struck her, police said.“The driver of the Kia stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police,” APD said. “No citations or charges have been filed; the investigation is ongoing.
Police said the westbound lanes of Northern Lights west of Minnesota were closed while the Major Collision Investigations Unit processed the scene.
