There is no income eligibility, although certain items may require a doctor’s note demonstrating a need.
Published: May. 23, 2024 at 5:18 PM AKDTFAIRBANKS, Alaska - Access Alaska provides services to those with disabilities around the state of Alaska, including Fairbanks, and as a part of that mission, the nonprofit organization runs the Durable Medical Equipment Loan Closet program.
The nonprofit, with locations in Fairbanks and Anchorage, carries a variety of items of use to those living with disabilities. “We have everything from wheelchairs to front wheel walkers to four-wheeled rollators with seats, all the way to lifting stations for bathtubs,” said Sloane. According to Sloane, items can be borrowed for as long as they are needed. “If they do need it indefinitely, then we don’t have a problem with that.”
