A 'suspicious package' found at the DART West End Station in downtown Dallas caused delays for commuters Monday afternoon.
A “suspicious package” was found at a downtown DART station Monday afternoon, prompting an evacuation and delays, officials said.
The package was found shortly after 4 p.m. at the West End Station, said Gordon Shattles, a spokesman for Dallas Area Rapid Transit. The station was evacuated “out of an abundance of caution,” he added. The threat has also caused road closures near the station, which is located just north of the intersection of North Austin and Elm streets.Advertisement
Train service at the station, where all four DART train routes meet, has been suspended while DART and Dallas police investigate, Shattles said. DART is providing commuters bus rides to different stations, but delays are still expected.
