San Antonio Police Officer Mark Walaski, a 29-year veteran, has been suspended again for failing to return to service on time after calls and failing to file a report in a theft case. This is not his first disciplinary action, as he had previously faced scrutiny for his relationship with a convicted prostitute.
A San Antonio police officer with a long, documented history of policy violations was suspended again last month, city discipline records show. Officer Mark Walaski agreed to a 10-day suspension in early November after a department investigation revealed he repeatedly failed to return to service on time after calls and failed to file a report in a theft case, records show.
Walaski, a 29-year veteran of SAPD, requested an expedited disciplinary track for his case and finished serving his suspension Wednesday, according to records. In one incident on July 15, Walaski recorded himself on his body-worn camera holding a menu inside a North Side restaurant while still assigned to a criminal mischief call, records show. Walaski had completed the call but remained assigned to it for around 45 minutes, according to records. Later that same day, Walaski “N-coded” a theft in progress call, meaning no report would be generated, even though a criminal offense was alleged to have been committed, records show. Walaski has faced disciplinary action previously, after investigators determined he had a relationship with a convicted prostitute, dating the woman and allowing her to live with him despite her having an active warrant, records previously showed. Walaski paid $530 to a bond company to bail the woman out of jail on warrants for two separate prostitution charges, SAPD officials previously said. Walaski and the department agreed to a negotiated settlement in the case, prior to it going to arbitration, city officials previously said. He returned to work in March 201
