Two suspects mistakenly shot the wrong person in a San Antonio neighborhood, San Antonio police said.
A 27-year-old was hospitalized after being mistakenly shot by two unknown suspects in a Northeast Side neighborhood, San Antonio police said. The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 12000 block of Command Post Street , near O’Connor Road.
San Antonio Police Department officers and EMS arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a preliminary police report. The injured man told police that a dark SUV had been following him when they pulled up next to him at an intersection and began shooting at him, police said. ALSO READ: SAPD officer suspended, accused of slashing items owned by homeless people A sergeant at the scene said the unknown shooters fired at the vehicle at least nine times, and then one of the shooters approached the window. The shooter then realized they had shot the wrong person and told the man, “Sorry, wrong guy,” the sergeant said. The victim told police he didn’t know the two suspects. Police said that, after being shot, the injured man drove himself home and called police. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. SAPD said the shooters have not been found as of Friday afternoon.
