Cape Town - According to a Sudanese government spokesperson, authorities have arrested several suspects including foreigners in connection with the attempted assassination of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, as reported by the Sudan Tribune.
In a meeting chaired by Hamdok, the Sudan Tribune reported that the council of ministers were briefed by the interior minister, as well as the director of the General Intelligence Agency about the bombing attack on the Prime Ministers convoy on Monday. At the meeting it was decided to establish an internal security unit affiliated to the Minister of Interior affairs.
