Authorities said they arrested two Chino residents, aged 19 and 22, and a juvenile on suspicion of felony organized retail theft Monday after they allegedly stole thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise at Valley Fair Mall in San Jose. SAN JOSE — Three suspects were taken into custody Monday evening after being found with more than $13,000 of stolen merchandise, largely Apple products, either on them or in their vehicle outside Valley Fair mall.
Mall loss prevention personnel pointed out the three suspects to San Jose Police Department officers who were called to the mall about 8:08 p.m. Monday. The individuals were found with more than $1,000 of merchandise on them and a search of their car resulted in another $12,000 of merchandise being discovered, according to a news release from the San Jose Police Department on Thursday.
Two suspects were booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail and a third juvenile suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall for felony organized retail theft, officials said. The department’s Organized Retail Theft Detail is conducting a follow-up investigation and is actively seeking to identify other victims.
