A suspected DUI driver crashed into a home in Box Elder County, injuring a woman inside. First responders received reports of a reckless driver on northbound US-89 around 3 p.m. Thursday, according to officials with the Perry City Police Department.
Police said by the time officers reached the scene, the driver had hit a car, which sent him off the road and into a house. The female homeowner said she saw the truck coming and was able to run before it crashed into her home. She was injured and hospitalized, with police noting it could have been much worse had she not seen the truck.
A baby was also inside the house at the time, asleep in their crib in another room. Police said the baby was not injured. The truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries and released that night. He is suspected of driving under the influence.
"There are several unknowns right now, but they will be out of work for a while and need to get essentials for the baby and themselves. Any amount will help until they can figure things out," the fundraiser said. An AMBER Alert was issued forRaymond Vigil, a 9-year-old boy abducted by Marie Erika Lynn Marsh, a 33-year-old non-family member. Marsh is driving a white Ford.
