An officer at 9:04 p.m. on Sept. 16 spotted a woman biting her nails while driving 67 mph in a 60-mph zone on I-480 near Stearns Road. The female driver, when asked to produce her driver’s license, reached into a fanny pack, and the officer spotted a clear plastic bag with green lettering that he suspected contained drugs.
An officer at 9:04 p.m. on Sept. 16 spotted a woman biting her nails while driving 67 mph in a 60-mph zone on I-480 near Stearns Road.
The officer asked the woman if she had anything illegal, and she initially denied having any illegal substances. However, when the officer said he spotted the suspicious bag, she said it contained ketamine, an anesthetic also used to treat depression. She said she did not have a prescription. The woman was cited for speeding and additional charges are pending results from lab testing on the seized materials, according to the police report.An off-duty police officer at 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 17 attempted to stop two women suspected of shoplifting as they left the Dillard’s department store at Great Northern Mall.
