A 28-year-old man has pleaded guilty to his role in the case of a homicide at an auto parts store in Delaware County in 2023.
pleaded guilty on Friday to felony counts of o engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, murder and felonious assault in a string of crimes -- including one at an AutoZone in Delaware County in August 2023 that resulted in the death of 33-year-old Alexander Fajardo-Torres.
While inside that AutoZone, Blakely struck an employee with a gun after the employee did not open the cash register. During the incident, Fajardo-Torres tried to stop the robbery and was fatally shot., were taken into custody following the incident. Immediately after pleading guilty, Blakely was sentenced to life in prison, with parole eligibility after 33 years.
Alejandro leaves behind family and friends who valiantly represented him in court during the three prosecutions of these individuals.," Delaware County Prosecutor Melissa Schiffel said in a media release. "Forever ingrained in our hearts and minds are the images and videos of Alejandro with his young son who now has to grow up without his father due to senseless violence committed by these three Columbus men.
