One person is dead after an exchange of gunfire with police in northwest Houston.
Harris County deputies stopped the vehicle, but the driver refused to exit his car. After arguing with authorities for more than an hour, he took off, and a brief pursuit ensued.The chase concluded with a successful pit maneuver at the intersection of FM 1960 and Ella Blvd, where the man exited his vehicle and fired a semi-automatic pistol at officers. The deputies returned fire, and the suspect was killed.
A nearby school bus that was driving through a parking lot was also struck. No children were in the bus at the time, and the two adult occupants were not injured. No officers were injured in the shooting. In total, one sergeant and three deputies fired shots at the gunman.units conducted a traffic stop. A male driver refused to exit the vehicle. Units gave ample time for the male to exit with no success. The male drove away from the location and a brief vehicle pursuit ensued, ending at 1960 & Ella.
