ASBURY PARK, N.J. – The lawyer for the man accused of killing a reputed mob boss says he was influenced by right-wing hate speech and conspiracy theories, according to a report.

Comello's lawyer Robert Gottlieb spoke to reporters Monday, according to NBC News, and said that his client is not guilty and that what happened was"directly related to the hate that people are bombarded with every day on the internet." Gottlieb suggested that Comello had picked up"signals" from right-wing conspiracy theory websites and even from the White House, according to reports.
