A police-involved shooting in Newark caused quite a scare for people waking up Monday. JohnBDias reports.
Police said they returned fire after someone shot at them at around 6 a.m. at an apartment building on the corner of South 15th Street and Clinton Avenue.
Investigators with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, which is overseeing the case, were tight-lipped, but said the suspect was in the hospital recovering. Most of the scene at the Ebon Square apartments was clear by midday, but video shows police carried out a large evidence bag earlier. It appeared the shooting happened inside the building, since medical supplies and blood were in a hallway on the third floor. But at least one evidence cone was in the street, suggesting something happened outside as well. "It's a little traumatizing," said Ceazu Kassor."I just came out this morning, taking my daughter to school, and I came outside seeing all this going on. It's a little crazy.
