A person has turned himself in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a former Braden River football player and injured his brother, a current Auburn football.
SARASOTA, Fla. - A person has turned himself in to authorities in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a former Braden River football player and injured his brother, a current Auburn football player.Brookins was wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Saturday at the Tallywood Centre in the 3400 block of 17th street. That shooting claimed the life of Tommie Battie IV. Tommie’s brother, Brian, who plays for Auburn football was also shot.
Investigators haven’t released a motive. Brookins has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and as a felon in possession of a firearm. He will be booked into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility.
