A Mobile County judge denied 18-year-old Lewis Jackson Powell's request for youthful offender status.
Adrianna Taylor, 15, died last week after a suspected fentanyl exposure, according to officials. Taylor, just shy of her 16th birthday, was a student at a Mobile-area high school. Powell, who is accused of supplying the fentanyl that caused Adrianna’s death, also pleaded not guilty to reckless manslaughter charges during his Monday court appearance. Adrianna was a student at Mary G. Montgomery High School. Powell was 17 at the time of his girlfriend’s death. The indictment against Powell alleges he supplied either marijuana and/or Xanax laced with fentanyl when Adrianna died.
