A suspect who allegedly carjacked two vehicles and broke into a northwest Austin apartment was killed Thursday morning in a shootout with police officers, autho
rities said.
The suspect first carjacked a vehicle from a Starbucks employee waiting to start her shift at the Four Points location, then stole a second vehicle from the nearby H-E-B grocery store, Davis said. Officers were informed the suspect was armed with a shotgun and another weapon. No officers were injured during the incident. Between three to four officers were involved in the shooting, according to preliminary information from police.
