Silis Harper, 35, was arrested near North Temple and the Jordan River Trail after officers responded to reports of trespassing and drug use in the area.According to police, an eagle-eyed passerby spotted Harper leaving his mark on a patrol car. The impromptu artwork was a cryptic "V1RU$" scrawled on the driver's door.
Officers, apparently unamused by Harper's attempt at vehicular beautification, found the suspect with a Sharpie tucked in his backpack, according to a probable cause statement. Video evidence later confirmed Harper's foray into automotive graffiti. Harper's troubles didn't end with the vandalism, though. A search revealed two tactical folding knives, various pipes, and an assortment of drug paraphernalia, court documents stated.As a Category 1 restricted person, Harper's knife collection added weapons charges to his list of alleged offenses. He now faces multiple charges, including possession of dangerous weapons, controlled substances, and causing property damage under $300.
