SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A suspect was shot and later died Saturday morning after an attempt to arrest them escalated in South Jordan.
Once the suspect was located, they pulled out a knife as officers approached. Officers attempted to use"less lethal force" to disarm the suspect, but it was unsuccessful. Police said the suspect resisted their efforts to detain him and eventually advanced toward them, leading an officer to shoot and wound the suspect.
The case is now being investigated by an Officer-Involved Critical Incident team. The area of Skye Drive and Skye Park was closed as the investigation continues.
