Texas State University police has arrested a suspect in connection to a racial biacontinue to investigate after a student found a racial slur keyed into his car

Texas State University police have arrested a suspect in connection to a car vandalized with a racial slur last month.

Police say a student found a racial slur keyed into his car on September 28 in the Wood Street garageDocuments obtained by CBS Austin say police were looking for a White male suspect between the ages of 18 and 25 years. The incident was first reported on September 28, but the report says it happened between the 24th and 25th.

CBS Austin's reporter Jahmal Kennedy first reported this story and said on social media following the update that it's "worth noting the victim in this story told me he was not on campus when the incident occurred. He only found out after he’d been gone and came back. That’s why the date reported and the date of the incident probably occurred are different."

Police say the suspect is charged with criminal mischief and the University's Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX and the Student Conduct and Community Standards Office are investigating.
