The investigation will be presented to the Denver District Attorney's Office for consideration of formal charges
, police said. Officers found Richard Leal, 41, lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
On Wednesday police identified Jakari Martin, 23, as a suspect in the shooting, which stemmed from a “verbal exchange” between the men, who police believe knew each other. Martin is being held at the Denver jail. The investigation will be presented to the Denver District Attorney’s Office for consideration of formal charges.
