AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora are investigating a stabbing that left one woman dead and a man on the run early Sunday morning.
The suspect was found and arrested Sunday afternoon, according to the Aurora Police Department. 31-year-old Jorge Fernandez-Garcia faces a First Degree Murder-Domestic Violence charge. Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of Geneva Street around 1:45 a.m. on a report that a woman was calling for help.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim on the ground and a man standing over her, Aurora police said.The woman was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Aurora police said the Adams County Coroner will release her identity once family has been notified. The events that led up to the stabbing are not known.
