A voicemail left for the Mayor’s Office on May 14 is now at the center of a major criminal case, after he allegedly threatened to bomb the mayor's office.
SAN ANTONIO - The suspect was identified as 43-year-old Kendall Durand. Durand has been charged with Terroristic Threats / Impeding Public Service. Thomas wrote that on May 14, 2026, at about 6:52 p.m., Durand called the Mayor’s Office and left a voicemail.
In the message, Durand stated, “I will have the Mexican drug cartel plant a bomb in your office if you don't clear the food in this area. ” The threat was “immediately reported to the San Antonio Police Department due to the fear created by the voicemail,” the affidavit states. Investigators linked the phone number used to leave the voicemail to Durand through public records, and the phone was “pinged at the Defendant's address,” according to the affidavit.
Detectives say that the New Braunfels Police Department was contacted and said Durand made similar statements to staff at an animal hospital on May 13, 2026. The affidavit alleges Durand made threatening statements “in a manner which placed a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury or death. ”Mother charged with capital murder after two kids found dead in burned vehicle SAN ANTONIO - Two dead people have been found in a burned vehicle.
