An investigation is underway after a man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Around 11 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting behind a Burger King located in the 7700 block of Bellfort Avenue and Dover Street.At 11:20 a.m., officers discovered shell casings and a blood trail a block away leading from a Walgreens pharmacy to a KinderCare Learning Center next door. Investigators then located a second man with gunshot wounds behind the daycare. He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
It is unclear what led up to the shooting. Police believe the two victims and the person of interest were homeless.
