Sehingga kini polis masih menyiasat punca kematian sebenar pelakon berusia 34 tahun itu apabila tiada sebarang nota terakhir ditinggalkan.
Bagaimanapun menurut laporan Times Now, ada sumber polis Mumbai menyatakan Sushant dilaporkan menderita penyakit kemurungan kerana pihak polis ada menemui kertas perubatan dan pil anti-depresi di kediamannya di Bandra, Mumbai.
