British TV producer Mark Burnett — known for shows such as “Survivor,” “Shark Tank,” “The Voice” and “The Apprentice” — will act as Donald Trump ’s special envoy to the United Kingdom, according to a Saturday announcement.
“With a distinguished career in television production and business, Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role,” the announcement said. Trump’s campaign said 64-year-old Burnett, the former chairman of MGM and recipient of 13 Emmy awards, will “work to enhance diplomatic relations, focusing on areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges.”, a billionaire investment banker and current CEO of the Arkansas-based investment bank Stephens Inc, was nominated by Trump to act as the ambassador to the UK.
