The series follows Mavis Beaumont, a Black, plus‑size stylist and designer who is "falling in love while loving herself," building her personal brand and navigating life in New York City with humor and heart.
Over its first two seasons, the show earned praise for its joyful representation and witty storytelling. For the final season, several cast members return, including Tone Bell, Peppermint, Garcelle Beauvais, RonReaco Lee, Alecsys Proctor‑Turner and Anthony Michael Lopez. New additions for season three feature guest stars Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, model Ashley Graham, comedian Ronny Chieng, Ice‑T, Wyatt Cenac, fashion designer LaQuan Smith and former Vogue editor Jenna Lyons.
Marouane Zotti, who had a recurring role in earlier seasons, has been promoted to a series regular. Behind the scenes, Michelle Buteau and Danielle Sanchez‑Witzel, who co‑created and executive produced the show, are each making their directorial debuts this season. Buteau directs episode five and Sanchez‑Witzel directs episode three. Amy Aniobi returns as showrunner and executive producer for the final eight episodes.
