The annual Point in Time count will occur on Jan. 28.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - At a meeting of the Anchorage Assembly’s Housing and Homeless Committee Wednesday afternoon, Jessica Parks, Chief Operations Officer with Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness, shared that the annual Point in Time count will occur on Jan. 28.
The first phase includes counting people who are sheltered in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. These numbers are determined by providers taking a census of who stayed there overnight. Once all the information is gathered, the data is analyzed for any duplicates — people who were reported in both phases — and eliminates the duplicates. The data is then published on the ACEH’s website dashboard.
