While 73% of Gen Zers consider themselves happy, there are significant differences in happiness levels among different age groups. The survey also highlights the importance of having a sense of purpose at work or school for Gen Zers' happiness, although a significant percentage of them do not find their daily activities interesting, important, or motivating.

There are also declines for members of Gen Z over the age of 18, compared to those younger than 18, for things like "feeling like your life matters, and like your life has direction," he adds.One of the most significant findings of the survey is that what influences the happiness of Gen Zers the most is "their sense of purpose at work or school."
Spicer enjoys being "in a position where you can maybe address some situations that could have made for a better experience for you as a kid, whether it's how you teach, or whether it's your relationships with students," he tells CNBC Make It. An important takeaway from the survey is that Gen Zers who were the happiest "are at least twice as likely to say they often feel loved by, supported by and connected to those around them.""There's this perception that Gen Z is really connected, but are those connections of a high quality in there? Are they giving you the love and the support that you really need?" Hrynowski says.
