An early version of a ruling in a reproductive rights case has now been released twice in two years.

Wade was obtained by Politico weeks before the opinion was announced in June 2022.The document indicated that the court voted 6-3 to allow abortions in Idaho emergency rooms.

Justice Clarence Thomas, Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Neil Gorsuch all voted against upholding the lower court ruling, according to the document.Patricia McCabe, a SCOTUS spokesperson, confirmed in a statement that the Supreme Court's Publications Unit uploaded the document in error to the website.It centered on the 1986 Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act , passed to prevent hospitals from refusing emergency care to patients who couldn't pay.
