A key senator voiced frustration that his concerns about Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito are disappearing into a 'black hole of indifference.'Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a Rhode Island Democrat who serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, sent a letter to Alito on Monday raising concerns about comments he made during a Wall Street Journal interview in July 2023, in which the justice dismissed Congress' ability to pass an ethics court for the court.
'So far, my questions regarding these events seem to have disappeared into a black hole of difference.'In his letter, Whitehouse listed several issues he has with the Wall Street Journal interview, criticizing Alito for 'opining about a question that may come before the Court,' referring to his comments criticizing Congress' efforts to implement an ethics code.
