The families and friends of the two young men killed in a San Marcos shooting last week said they will be remembered as caring members of their community who were active in sports and close to their families.
Investigators have shared few details about the homicides, and offered no information on a suspect. But Steffen has said detectives believe it was an isolated incident.Family and friends created separate GoFundMe fundraisers this week, with the organizers of each page promising the funds will go to help both men’s families cover medical and funeral costs.
“The Knight Football Family is saddened to learn of the passing of our beloved Nick Tiefer,” read a tweet from the San Marcos football program’s Twitter account. “Nick played the game the way it is supposed to be played, with unrelenting passion and enthusiasm. Our prayers are with the Tiefer family.”
