Supply chain issues, rising fuel costs, construction delays and inflation are affecting budget planning for Plano.
Karen Rhodes-Whitley, the city’s budget director, told City Council members about these key factors during a March 28 meeting. The discussion was a starting point for the 2022-23 budget process.
“Rising fuel costs are hitting us,” she added. “The majority of our vehicles here run on diesel fuel instead of regular unleaded.”Construction is costing anywhere from 30-50% more, Rhodes-Whitley said. That includes materials such as lumber and concrete.
