Superman & Lois’ New Jonathan Kent Reveals He Auditioned For The Role Back In Season 1

Speaking with KryptonSite, Michael Bishop revealed that he auditioned to play Jonathan Kent when Superman & Lois was first casting the role, and the actor got close to getting it. Jordan Elsass was ultimately picked to play Jonathan, with Bishop joining the DC series in season 3 after Elsass left for mental health reasons. Back in 2019 or 2020, I auditioned for Jon, and it got right down to the wire, and I missed out. I was heartbroken.

Jordan Elsass did a fantastic job with Jon, but to have the role come back to me in this way was so surreal and so incredible. I’m forever grateful.
