Supermajority aims to mobilize at least 2 million women over the next year to become political leaders in their communities and influence U.S. elections, including the upcoming 2020 race.
A new group seeking to leverage women's political power has seen nearly 50,000 women from across all 50 states sign up to become founding members since launching on Monday.
In a statement to Newsweek, Supermajority spokesperson Dawn Huckelbridge said the organization has been"blown away by the women reaching out and sharing their stories from across the country." "That's why women are taking action," Garza said, discussing how women have been marching, running for office, donating to and supporting causes and campaigns, as well as voting in record numbers since the 2016 election. That includes the 2018 midterms, which saw women elected to Congress in record-breaking numbers.
