While the adaptation will follow the core plot, screenwriter Ana Nogueira has confirmed that not every iconic element from the source material will make it to the big screen.
In an interview with Comicbook, Nogueira expressed particular disappointment about having to cut a beloved psychedelic sequence featuring a Dragon, which occurs after Kara ingests Red Kryptonite to battle a metal-eating Karpane Dragon. She described the original panel as gorgeous and challenging to omit, highlighting the difficulty of translating every visually striking comic moment into a live‑action format.
Additionally, the comic's dinosaur elements-another memorable feature-will also be absent from the movie. Nogueira explained that despite her desire to include them, practical constraints prevented such an addition. Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo had earlier emphasized that the film would take inspiration from the comic rather than adapt it page‑for‑page, calling the book great but noting the need to craft a distinct cinematic experience.
