The 88-year-old IndyCar legend hasn't been to the track this year.

A.J. Foyt is expected to drive his specially-made golf cart into Texas Motor Speedway for Sunday’s PPG 375 IndyCar race.Foyt missed all winter testing, as well as the 2023 season-opening event at St. Petersburg, Florida, nearly a month ago.

The legendary Foyt will be making his first appearance at anything IndyCar-related since he attended the Indianapolis Grand Prix last July as part of the IndyCar/NASCAR doubleheader at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "It's been a while since I've been going to the races,” Foyt said. “I'm glad I'm getting well enough to go again and I look forward to going to Texas. I'm not 100% but going just to have some fun.”
