'Super star' nurse heaped with praise on 80th birthday and STILL doing five day weeks
A ‘super star’ nurse has celebrated her 80th birthday and is still going strong after 60 years of service to the profession. Norma Newcombe came to Hindley Health Centre where she received a big surprise party.
“I’m proud to be where I am and I’m very passionate about the local area and everything related with Hindley and School Nursing. We have brilliant team leaders and I work with a brilliant team of school nurses and health visitors and I’m just happy as I am and where I am.” Readers of the Manchester Evening News were keen to share their congratulations with Norma and thank her for her dedication to the profession.
Jennifer Mangnall weighed in: “Congratulations and a huge happy 80th birthday to such a lovely lady.”Trudy Messenger exclaimed: “Best nurse ever. Happy birthday Norma.”
