A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Los Angeles was diverted to Salt Lake City for a mechanical issue but experienced a snafu when an emergency slide deployed inside the plane after landing, a Delta Air Lines spokesperson told SFGATE in a statement.
On Saturday, June 10, a Delta Air Lines flight headed to California from New York diverted to Utah after noticing a potential mechanical issue, according to the statement. Upon reaching the gate, the aircraft’s emergency inflatable slide “was deployed by accident,” the airline said. “First time seeing an emergency slide deployed by accident INSIDE the plane,” @danmorenooo tweeted with a photo of the slide blocking the bathroom and aisle pathway.
